2023 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships Seeking Coaches and Trainers

Hockey Alberta and Indigenous Sports Council of Alberta are currently accepting applications for Coaches and Trainers on both Male & Female Teams for the 2023 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships.

This annual event provides a forum for elite U15/ U18 aged Indigenous male and female youth and attracts participation from First Nation, Inuit and Metis across the 13 provinces and territories. The event also helps to foster cultural unity and pride, and celebrates the athletic abilities of Indigenous players from across the country, serving as a focal point for regional Indigenous hockey development.

The purpose of the Canmore Minor Hockey Association (CMHA), in partnership with its members, is to promote the game of hockey through skill development, quality leadership, understanding of teamwork and good sportsmanship, in an atmosphere of fun and positive environment for all children.

By enlisting the best volunteer-based coaches and support staff available in the Canmore region, it is the goal of the CMHA to foster personal excellence in each child, regardless of their skill level or gender, and to increase individual self-esteem and dignity of all participants. All members of the CMHA pledge to incorporate a Safety-First approach into all aspects of the game of hockey.
